There should be a generic template students can use for their blogs and journals – ‘I love you all and haven’t forgotten you and really really wish to update but homework is just too intense’. In lieu of the full template being available I’ll freestyle my own:
Hey loyal fans and acolytes, life here is just dandy! I’m learning heaps and sharing sentiments with the Pre-Raphaelites. I have all the concepts in the world but just no time to express them. And when I do I lose them – the sketches of Geko posing like a moose, Adonis eating hot chips in a café with views of the city skyline, a modern Ophelia in skeleton dress. Ready for inking but can’t be found. No doubt they absconded out the window and to a life of adventure and excess on the seedy stages of Broadway musicals.
Student life is everything I expected, disappointingly enough. Like putting ‘real life’ on hold for another three years. Any moment now my art will be ‘discovered’ and I’ll make a killing, be labelled genius and never have to work again. Any moment now.
