A scene of a girl by a river with a tree spirit and birds. Overly Kiwiana as it was an entry for the front cover of our phone directory. The winners are always really, really terrible so I figured I was in with a fighting chance. Of course I didn't win, and in the charitable art auction this piece received only one bid - my mother, buying it for a gift for my grandmother.

My ego is quite able to handle the blow - I've set my goal in life to be a truly promising failure so anything resembling a success is actually a disappointment for me.
